Groove Essentials (Formerly House of Vagabond) was a partnership between Speech of Arrested Development, Freddy (Co-Founder), and Wayne. With Speech financing the operation; Freddy producing events, co-booking events, running the music studio; and Wayne directing the marketing, co-booking, and overseeing business development. With this nucleus, they built a reputation over the years for taking risks and succeeding with cutting edge entertainment ventures.  In 1997, they expanded their operations to Europe and the Caribbean with the counsel and resources of Rudy Sarabus of Talystar Productions/JLA Groupe, Thierry Palmier of Art Gang Productions and Duncan van Heyningen of Deviage Entertainment.

First Breath Tour (Accepting Installation Dates, now!)

The First Breath Tour is an imaginative art installation and multmedia experience inspired by the personal journey of the Diaz Rodriguez Family, and dedicated to the peaceful liberation of Cuba. David Diaz has asked us to fuse his Art and the Story of his Father, Ernesto Diaz Rodriguez (Vice-President of Unidad Cuba/Secretarty General of Freedom Fighters, Alpha 66) in conjunction with House Music Defined and Bellcurve Music.  The essence of the multimedia tour installation will include Dinner Speaking Engagements, Art Auctions and Music oriented Freedom events in 9 selective markets around the Globe.  The First Breath Tour is more of a tribute to Ernesto Diaz Rodriguez’ endurance as a pioneer to Liberate Cuba peacfully, a celebration of David’s art inspired by his father’s story, and to introduce fresh music & various artistic mediums in an entertaining setting.  The exhibition is also, an opportunity to shed light on the positive efforts of Alpha 66 to Liberate Cuba.

Father - Ernesto Diaz Rodriguez, was imprisoned in Dec. 1968 – March 1991 by Cuba (7 years in Solitary Confinement).  While in prison he wrote 9 books of poetry on matchbooks, which were published into 5 poetry books (4 non-published), and he is featured in the documentary, called Plantados.  Ernesto’s prison release was spearheaded by the French chapter of the International PEN, and President George H. W. Bush.  PEN is a Non-Governmental Organization, in Special Consultative status with the United Nations, and was founded in London to promote international co-operation and friendship among writers everywhere, but now includes writers of any form of literature such as journalists, poets, essayists and historians.

Son - Experience an evening of Surrealist and Dada themed art from the mind, body and spirit of renowned Cuban artist David Diaz.  David’s paintings were inspired by his Father’s 22 years of incarceration as a ”prisoner of conscience” in Cuba, while David’s mother and 3 brothers resided in the U.S. during the entire 22 years.

A portion of the sales will be contributed to Alpha 66 in their fight for freedom in Cuba and for the on-going struggle for human rights around the world & International PEN. We need you to make a difference.  It’s time to make it right!  One world!  All art! And Music!
